Oreos Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

In honor of Oreo’s 100th Birthday, this week I made Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies. Bit of a mouthful to say? More of a mouthful to eat! These cookies are literally an Oreo wrapped in a chocolate chip cookie. After eating one straight from the oven I can actually say, these are the best cookies I have ever eaten. While the cookie is still warm, the Oreo tastes like you just finished dunking it into a glass full of milk (which is of course the best way to eat an Oreo).

I know, I know, why mess with a good thing? Oreos are great for dunking, twisting, licking & then finally eating! Fun fact, according to Kraft “50 percent of Oreo eaters pull apart their cookies before eating, and women twist them open more often than men.” With such a variety of ways to devour it, be it by a man or woman, you really can’t go wrong. But I’m in the business of product development. Which means that we take foods, even those that are 100 years old and make them even better!

For the cookie recipe I used please see my other post Brookie Mud Pie. You’ll want to cream together the sugar and margarine, or in this case butter, first. Stop when the mixture becomes a light yellow. Then add in the rest of the ingredients & beat until smooth & homogeneous. I used butter instead of margarine because it’s always preferred. Is this a rule? You betch-ya! But also, the Oreo cookies are already COR Dairy. That means that if you’re cooking these for a kosher meal, you would have had to serve it during an all dairy meal anyway. Might as well make them the best chocolate chip cookies you’ve ever eaten.

Once the dough is finished, with your hands turn it into a small puck. Then begin to flatten out the dough until it was large enough to wrap it inside an Oreo. After it is enrobed in cookie dough, try to smooth out any edges that may have been created from your wrapping technique.

Once complete you should have a bunch of thick looking chocolate chip cookies. I had a bit of a hold up on the oven, so I made the rest while I waiting for things to finish. Don’t you hate it when there isn’t enough room to bake off everything in one shot? Once complete finish by baking as per the instructions & you should get a mouth-watering cookie that is amazing!
