Oreos Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

In honor of Oreo’s 100th Birthday, this week I made Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies. Bit of a mouthful to say? More of a mouthful to eat! These cookies are literally an Oreo wrapped in a chocolate chip cookie. After eating one straight from the oven I can actually say, these are the best cookies I have ever eaten. While the cookie is still warm, the Oreo tastes like you just finished dunking it into a glass full of milk (which is of course the best way to eat an Oreo).

I know, I know, why mess with a good thing? Oreos are great for dunking, twisting, licking & then finally eating! Fun fact, according to Kraft “50 percent of Oreo eaters pull apart their cookies before eating, and women twist them open more often than men.” With such a variety of ways to devour it, be it by a man or woman, you really can’t go wrong. But I’m in the business of product development. Which means that we take foods, even those that are 100 years old and make them even better!

Brookie Mud Pie

A couple of weeks ago my mom and sister went to Miami to visit my cousin. While there they ate “the most delicious dessert I have ever eaten”. They claimed it was “so easy to make and she made a bunch at a time and froze them for later”. Needless to say, I was intrigued. My cousin calls it her “Mud Pie”, but what it actually is, is probably the best 3-in-1 dessert you’ve ever tried. It’s a brownie-cookie-pie, or brookie mud pie.

Basically when I made this recipe I made 4 pies, and I can tell you that within delivery all 4 pies were devoured within 24 hours! So if you like cookies, brownies and even a yummy pie crust, then I think this is the dessert for you!

Becoming a Cake Boss

Fall is a great time to learn a new skill. Maybe it’s because I miss school (never thought I’d be saything that…) or maybe it’s because I’ve been watching too much Cake Boss. Regardless, I decided (along with willing companions) to join a cake decorating class! Hurray for learning!

So for those of you who have never taken one of these classes, they make you do “homework”.  This week it was to have at least 6 “flat” cookies made. I imagine they wanted you to bring sugar cookies… but I decided to make shortbread cookies instead!

Pretzel + Chocolate Chip Cookies

I love coming up with new combinations of yummy baked goods, so much so, that I made it my career! When I read this recipe for pretzel chocolate chip cookies how could I not try them! Even though these are high in sodium it’s, sooo worth it.

Apple π!

This week I’ve been in the festive mood. Rosh Hashana is today and therefore I’ve been baking up a storm and making LOTS of apple desserts for the sweet new year!

So something that’s become a staple for me, so much so that I even named my blog after it, is my apple pie! The recipe is actually my grandmothers’ and I think as a kid, since I was named after her, I tried to do it justice. It was probably the first ever real dessert I made and is still the only one I’ve memorized.

Finished Apple Pie

Ya, I made that, no big deal

Food Porn Daily

Click. Drool. Repeat.

As a fan of FoodPornDaily.com I can think of no better birthday present to the friend who introduced me to this site than The Cookbook by the same name. But of course, since I am a great friend, I took a quick sneak through the entire thing and found the most delicious chocolate chip cookies I have ever seen. Which of course ment that we had to test out the recipe.
